Adopting Hybrid Just Got Easier With Skyhigh SSE Platform

The world has undergone a massive transformation since the pandemic in 2020, and the cloud revolution has been one of its biggest shifts. While cloud adoption began years before, it wasn’t until after the pandemic that it truly took off. According to a November 2023 Gartner report, the cloud is set to become a business necessity by 2028, with the market projected to soar past $1 trillion by 2027. These numbers highlight just how critical cloud technology has become for organizations aiming to stay competitive in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

While cloud adoption may come easily for many modern businesses, it’s a more complex challenge for regulated industries like banking, finance, healthcare, manufacturing, and telecom. These sectors handle sensitive data, such as Personally Identifiable Information (PII), and rely on stable legacy on-premise infrastructures. For them, the shift to a hybrid solution—combining both on-prem and cloud environments—is the most viable path forward.

Skyhigh Security has been a leader in providing security solutions tailored to regulated industries for years. Its unique strength lies in a comprehensive, industry-proven range of products for both on-premise and cloud environments. Skyhigh Security offers the flexibility to run on-premise versions of its Secure Web Gateway (SWG) alongside its cloud version within the Skyhigh SSE product suite. For customers transitioning to a hybrid setup, combining both on-prem and cloud SWGs, Skyhigh’s unified policy management makes it effortless to sync on-prem policies to the cloud with just a click. Customers can choose to fully migrate all policies to the cloud or keep them distinct, with the added option of using synchronized lists for seamless policy updates.

Skyhigh has recently come up with new features that would further help customers embrace Hybrid easily.

  • The Dedicated Egress IP and Source IP Anchoring features allow customers to route their internet traffic through specific public IP addresses assigned to their organization. This enables the implementation of Source IP restrictions and provides enhanced traffic monitoring. Additionally, it helps address governance and jurisdiction challenges, maintain IP reputation, and avoid noisy neighbor issues.
  • The newly available Rule Tracing and Digital Experience Enhancements tackle common concerns around traffic visibility and troubleshooting, which often worry administrators during cloud migrations. Rule Tracing allows customers to pinpoint the specific policies or configurations influencing end-user traffic behavior, while the Digital Experience Enhancements help quickly identify the root cause of network issues.
  • Skyhigh also provides a unified experience across its entire SSE platform, including HSM Key Management and Sandboxing. Hybrid customers can integrate Secure Web Gateway (SWG) with on-prem HSM vendors, while SWG Cloud supports cloud-based HSM solutions. For enhanced sandboxing, SWG On-Prem can be paired with Trellix IVX On-Prem, and SWG Cloud can work seamlessly with Trellix IVX cloud service. These integrations ensure consistent security across both on-prem and cloud environments.

Conclusion

The Skyhigh Security Secure Service Edge platform stands out as a versatile solution, offering flexible options for customers looking to embrace the cloud or adopt a hybrid approach. Recognizing that hybrid environments are here to stay, Skyhigh addresses the unique challenges organizations face during cloud adoption. By providing a unified user experience and robust security measures, the platform ensures a smooth, secure transition without sacrificing performance or protection.
